Snowy (m) and Snowflake (f) (Must be Adopted Together)
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Colour: Pure White
Gender: Male, neutered and Female, spayed
Age: Kittens

Meltingly gorgeous! These pure white siblings were orphaned when their mother was killed. They relied entirely on each other to survive until a kind-hearted couple in Melita rescued them and are now fostering them for us. The kitts are under 1 year, house trained, vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

Snowflake, the female, has one gold eye and one blue, making her even more striking. They both love to play on their cat tree and look out the windows. And as you can see, they are inseparable but they do get along fine with the other cats in the house. Call 748-6677 for adoption information.

DeeDee
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Kitten

DeeDee was rescued along with several other homeless cats by a kind lady who really can't keep them all. This little black beauty is a charmer. She loves nothing more than to bask in the sun, mooch some cuddles and belly rubs, then take a nap with a friend. Extremely sociable with animals and people, DeeDee would make an excellent family pet.

Miss Kitty
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Colour: Tabby with White
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Adult

Miss Kitty is about 3 years old, spayed, vaccinated and very deserving of a fresh start in life. She's living as an indoor-outdoor cat at her foster home but she craves love and affection and could easily give up her independence for a fireplace and a warm lap. This girl has a lot of gentleness in her eyes as you can see from the pictures. She's beautiful inside and out. Can you give her the safe place she's been waiting for?

Buddy Holly
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby with White
Gender: Male
Age: Kitten

Buddy Holly is a lovely and loving young cat (born July 2009) who's looking for his forever home. He was rescued and taken into foster care along with his sister Missy (see below). His beautiful green eyes, pink nose and soft coat make him very cuddle-icious. Buddy Holly is a quiet boy, unlike his namesake the rock and roller. This Buddy doesn't talk much, but enjoys human and feline companionship. He would do well in any type of family... yours? Call 748-6677 for more information.

Missy Holly
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby with White
Gender: Female
Age: Kitten

Buddy's sister Missy is just as cute and affectionate as he is. But she tends to be a bit more talkative, letting you know when she'd like some face time, please. Missy likes to play and loves to be cuddled. If you like a real hands-on pet to play with you, sit quietly in your lap, or be carried in your arms gazing up at you adoringly with her green eyes, call us about Missy. Her first birthday is coming up in July... can you make it extra special by granting her wish for a home? 748-6677 Virden Pet Network.

Charlotte
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Classic Tabby
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Young Adult

Have you been looking for a petite young feline who starts purring the moment she sees you? Who makes no secret of the fact that she absolutely adores you? The food and toys you bring are nice, but she would put those aside just for a cuddly moment with you. That's the kind of gal Charlotte is. 100% gentle affection with everyone she meets. Confident and relaxed no matter what's going on around her, she'd be a great pet for families, singles, and households that already have cats and dogs... she loves 'em all. What a treasure, everyone who meets Charlotte falls for her loving ways. Sometimes extraordinary things come in plain brown wrappers!

Lily
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Colour: Orange & White Tabby
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Young Adult

This gorgeous creature shares the same sad story as so many cats that come into rescue... once a pet, abandonned, left to fend for herself in the middle of winter. It's no wonder she was a little scared. But Lily has gotten over it and has become the perfect house cat. Neat as a pin, she's litter trained and really enjoys being petted and brushed. Just catch her eye and Lily will come over to greet you, snuggle her face into yours, and accept your kisses over and over. She'll decorate your life with her beauty and her gentle, quiet ways.

Jesse
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Classic Tabby
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Jesse is an absolutely stunning classic tabby with wonderful markings, swirls and dapples (We should have named him Cupid; he has a heart shape on both sides!) He's really into eye contact and will make you feel like the most important person in the room. He's a very laid back, good ol' boy who just loves relaxing, being admired and getting his neck scratched. He'd be a wonderful companion for just about any type of family. Gets along great with other cats and is cool with dogs.

Jesse tested FIV positive and will have to be an indoor only cat for the rest of his life. He isn't a scrapper so can share a home with other cats without risk of infection (the virus is spread through deep bite wounds.) FIV cats can live long, happy lives so come see about adopting Jesse.

Fernando
Breed: Russian Blue Cross
Colour: Blue Grey
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

Fernando's soft grey coat is so silky and thick, he should be making shampoo commercials! He's between one and two years old, a young man with lots of life and love to share with you. He was rescued on a cold winter day and has discovered he just loves being warm, well fed and petted (but allowed to go out in the backyard when it's mild).

Fernie is extremely affectionate with other cats, making friends by rubbing up against them, rolling over to show his belly, and purring. He likes to play-wrestle with like-minded felines and is even quite chummy with dogs. Oh, and he loves to talk! Can you teach him the meaning of "forever home"? 748-6677

Cocoa and Merlin
Breed: Domestic Long Hair, Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black
Gender: Neutered Males
Age: Young Adults

Cocoa and Merlin are brothers looking for permanent homes, either together or separately. Both are neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. They are okay with other cats but tend to be shy with people, so will require a patient owner who can help them outgrow their fears. Once they know you, both are very affectionate and gentle companions.

Cocoa has big, round eyes and remarkable fur, with a tiny white tip at the end of his tail and shades of brown mixed in with the thick black hair. An incredibly beautiful cat. Merlin has short, easy to manage hair.

Call 748-6677 or email virdenpetnet@yahoo.ca to learn more about these handsome young men.

Harley
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: White with Tabby Markings
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

This handsome devil is as good natured as he is good looking. His favorite spot is between the sofa and your feet watching TV or curling up with you in bed. He warms up to strangers quickly and enjoys human attention. A wonderful, laid back cat who would probably be happy with any sort of family or a single person.

He's had his shots, been neutered, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV and leukemia. A healthy, happy boy who can go home any time... he's soooooo ready to love you!

Finnegan
Breed: Short Hair Tabby
Colour: Ginger
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

Finn was rescued last winter by a kind family in Virden when he tried to find warmth under the hood of their car. By then, he was already badly frostbitten and malnourished. Since then, Finn has been vet checked, neutered and vaccinated. He's a spunky and spirited young lad who has discovered the joy of play thanks to his feline best friend, Joon.

Finn has bright, shiny orange eyes and beautiful, soft fur. He's still hesitant with new people but improves every day and would come around in the care of someone with the time to win his trust. He loves to be petted as he curls up in his favorite comfy bed, with or without a cuddle partner. As you can see from the photos, he'd make a great indoor/outdoor cat when the weather allows. Call 748-6677 about adopting him.

Joon
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: White and Grey
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Kitten

This little spitfire came into rescue in June with ears frozen down to nothing, a bad cold, and hungry as a bear. In spite of endless feedings, she still only weighs about 4 pounds, but that doesn't slow her down for one second. Joon is a bundle of energy. What she lacks in physical size she makes up for with her sheer joy to be alive. Joon talks to anyone who will listen in her little raspy voice, crawls up into your arms for a short, affectionate cuddle, then scampers off to play with her best friend Finn.

Her spirit will inspire you, entertain you, and teach you the joy of living in the moment. Oh yeah, and don't sweat the small stuff! She's been spayed and vaccinated, gets along well with dogs and other cats, and is ready to start a new life (preferably with Finn). Call 748-6677.

Mojo
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Solid Gray
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Kitten

Mojo has had a topsy turvy life and could really use a break. First he, his mom and 3 siblings were seized from their owners by animal control and brought to the rescue. Then they were adopted out but 2 including Mojo were returned to the rescue due to family issues.

Mojo is now about 1 year old, litter trained, and neutered. That's him and his sister (now adopted) opening their Christmas presents! Playful, spirited and healthy, Mojo is a fun, active teenager who enjoys people, dogs and other cats. Call 748 6677 about meeting him.

(One-Eyed) Jack
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black & Tan Tabby, White Markings
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

This brave little trooper doesn't let his handicap slow him down or change his delightfully friendly personality. His badly infected eye had to be surgically removed due to an injury but he adjusted quickly and plays just as vigorously as other cats his age.

Jack gets along well with other cats and enjoys the company of dogs too. When just a kitten, he spent a lot of time in a foster home with children of all ages, so we think he'd do well in any kind of family, big or small, noisy or quiet. Jack is neutered and more than ready to start his new life with you. Call 748-6677.

Rufus
Breed: Long Haired Tabby
Colour: Black and Caramel
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

It took a near-death experience to bring Rufus to us. He had terrible injuries from a vehicle fan, was malnourished, and had frostbitten ears and tail. Rufus has now fully recovered and is ready to start a new chapter in life.

What's remarkable about this little man is he doesn't hold a grudge. Look at the gentleness in those eyes. He loves kisses on the nose, scratches on the head, and belly rubs. Rufus' fur is extremely soft with handsome bronze highlights among the stripes. He's a very quiet roommate, keeping a low profile and speaking in a soft, never-demanding voice. Rufus tends to shy away from young children and other noisemakers :-) so would do better in a quiet home with grown ups. He does great with dogs and other cats. Call us for adoption information: 748 6677.

Toby
Breed: Short Haired Tabby
Colour: Buff
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Toby has a few battle scars but inside beats the heart of a sweet guy who just needs a second chance. He was rescued from the streets of downtown Virden with severe damage to his eye. Fortunately, he's been able to adjust to mono vision with the help of his foster parents.

In fact, with their constant care, love and patience, Toby has become a whole new man. He's now trusting of people and accepting of dogs. He does have issues with other dominant cats sharing his space so should go to a home without other felines or with lots of space for them to spread out. He's been health checked and neutered. Contact his foster mom at 748 2136 to find out more about Toby.

Snuffles
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Colour: Black and White "Tuxedo"
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

Snuffles has come a long way since he first came into rescue in the middle of winter. Then, he was cold, hungry and scared. But Snuffles has made great strides. He's learning how to trust people... He now comes to his foster mom for affection and quickly turns on his motor, rolls on his back, and blisses out. He also loves playing with his favorite toy: a string on a stick with someone special making it dance.

But what Snuffles really needs is a home and a person of his very own. He gets along well with other cats, tending to be submissive to them, and is used to dogs. Neutered, dewormed and vet checked. Phone 748-6677.

Camilla: "Barn Buddy" Candidate
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Soft Grey and White
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Young Adult

Camilla is a quiet, dainty, petite, beautiful girl. Imagine finding such a treasure living in a colony of semi-wild cats on the edge of Virden. She was in good condition because a compassionate couple had been feeding her every day and providing shelter in a garage.

But what she didn't get much of is human contact and handling. So despite more than a year of trying to tame her, we feel Camilla would do well in the country as part of our Barn Buddy program. (Learn more about the Barn Buddy program here.)

She's in excellent health, plays well with other cats and is confident around dogs. And she really gets the whole predator-prey thing! Contact Virden Pet Network at 748 6677 or email Virdenpetnet@yahoo.ca

Another asthma orphan, Meisha is an indoor-only cat who needs to find a new home due to allergies. She's a beautiful, long haired kitten, just one year old. Great with kids and dogs. Contact Stefanie by email at: stefilove_17@hotmail.com

Oakie
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Grey Tabby
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Young Adult

Oakie's family is heartbroken to have to give her up to that old home-wrecker, allergies. Oakie is only 1 1/2 years old and very well taken care of. She has beautiful sea green eyes and a silky coat. She likes to play and follows her humans around almost like a puppy. She gets along well with cats, dogs, and kids who treat her gently. Free to a very good home. Contact Marilyn at 748-1695.

Snowball
Breed: Domestic Long Hair, White
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Mature

Snowball is a gorgeous, graceful creature who is again looking for a new home. Her original owner moved away in December. Her new adoptive home didn't work out because Snowball isn't used to being around young children. At her age, she'd be much better suited to a quiet environment with adults only.

Snowball is used to living with other cats and even dogs. Can you help her to enjoy her "golden" years in peace and comfort? Contact Treasure Sparks at 512-1058 c.

Spitz
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Orange Tabby
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

This young male cat has a gorgeous coat and a personality to match. Clever, too... in the short time he's been living with his rescuer, he's learned to come to his name. (By the way, he was named Spitz after the sunflower seeds.) Neutered and in excellent health, he'll deliver happiness to your household. Private adoption.
