Ash: The Cuddlicious Cat
Breed: Short Hair
Colour: White with Grey Highlights
Gender: Neutered Male

"You like chicken? So do I! You like cuddling up on a cold winter night? So do I! You like dogs? Me too! We have so much in common, I can't wait to meet you."

This handsome young boy has a lot to give: affection, excellent indoor manners, and a laidback good-ol-boy attitude towards everyone he meets: great with kids, other cats and of course dogs.

Ash is ready to go to his forever home and get down to work delighting you and your family. Come and meet Ash, you'll really be impressed by his lovely personality.

Wellington: Poster Child for Change
Breed: Short Hair
Colour: Ginger Tabby, White Socks
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Wellington is our poster child for the incredible power of forgiveness that some animals possess. A stray just one year ago, he took shelter in an unheated garage in Virden, running away every time someone approached.

He was very untrusting of people, but after months of feeding him and talking gently to him, Wellie began to warm up... first sniffing our fingers, then letting us touch him, then pat him, then lift him from floor to the feeding shelf, to the point where he now loves being held, carried and even kissed. What a transformation! And he's just as affectionate with the dogs.

Wellie still likes his outdoor freedom so he'd prefer an outdoor/indoor living arrangement, maybe a warm barn or a porch or mudroom to crash in. And of course someone to fuss over him when he needs a cuddle... which is every few hours!

If you think Wellington would fit in around your place, contact us. 748-6677.

JESSE: He's FIV+ But You'd Never Know It!
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Classic Tabby
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Jesse is an absolutely stunning classic tabby with wonderful markings, swirls and dapples. Because of his calm, unflappable nature, he creates an atmosphere of serenity in whatever room he's in. He's really into eye contact and will make you feel like the most important person in the room... just ask Larissa (in the photo getting a kiss from Jesse).

Jesse loves relaxing, being admired and getting his neck scratched. He also goes a little nutty for catnip whenever he can get some (see video). He'd be a wonderful companion for a couch potato like him. Gets along great with other cats and is cool with dogs, too.

He has never been ill due to his FIV and is healthy and strong. According to vets, FIV cats can live a long time, in many cases just as long as non-infected cats. Call us to talk about Jesse and ask any questions you may have about FIV. Please give this lovable lug a chance! 748-6677.

(Not sure how an FIV cat would fit into your life? Please read this article at Best Friends Sanctuary about a man who adopted 3 FIV cats and is loving every minute of their life together.)

Toby: Born to Love!
Breed: Short Haired Tabby
Colour: Buff
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Toby has a few battle scars including a bad eye that has partial vision. But inside beats the heart of a sweet guy who just needs a second chance. He was rescued from the streets of downtown Virden with damage to his eye and has been able to adjust to mono vision with the help of his foster parents.

In fact, with their constant care, love and patience, Toby has become a whole new man. He's now very affectionate with his humans and just loves to be picked up and cuddled. He does have issues with other dominant cats sharing his space so should go to a home without other felines. He's been health checked, vaccinated and neutered. Contact his foster mom Bev at 748 2136 to find out more about Toby or call the rescue.

Jack
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black & Tan Tabby, White Markings
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Jack has a delightfully friendly personality. He gets along well with other cats and enjoys the company of dogs too. When just a kitten, he spent a lot of time in a foster home with children of all ages, so we think he'd do well in any kind of family, big or small, noisy or quiet. Jack is neutered and more than ready to start his new life with you. Call 748-6677.

Snuffles: Shy, Handsome Hunk

Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Colour: Tuxedo Black and White
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Maybe you're looking for a quiet, dignified pet. One who's still young and handsome but finished with kitten hijinx. One whose long thick fur gives you a "wow" experience every time you pet it. Someone whose big round eyes see the world with wonder, every day.

Maybe you don't need a cat to carry in your arms, greet visitors at the door or entertain your sister's kids. Maybe you're a single person with a quiet lifestyle who just need a loyal, beautiful companion to share your space with.

Talk to us about Snuffles. 748-6677

AIDAN

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Pale Grey & White Tabby
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

An abandoned foundling not too long ago, Aidan has blossomed into a deeply affectionate cat who likes everyone he meets. He loves to play, as you can see in the video below. And he doesn't have a domineering bone in his body so enjoys other felines and even seeks out their company. Aidan is a little "peace and love" hippy!

His luxuriously soft, dove gray fur coat and beautiful ocelot markings complete the incredible package. Lucky is the family or individual who adopts our wonder boy. (Aidan hasn't been around children yet but we think with a little training he could learn to control his sometimes rough play.)

Less than a year old, in perfect health, neutered and vaccinated. Call 748-6677 to arrange to meet Aidan.

Casper

Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Colour: White
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Young Adult

This very beautiful, long-haired young man is gentle, friendly, and good with kids. Casper is about 7 months old. He was rescued by a kind family in Birtle who have cared for him since they found him in March. Recently health checked, vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered, he's ready to start the next chapter in his life.

Casper would prefer to be an only cat as he can be a little bossy with other felines. But his foster parents say he behaves just fine as long as the other cats are younger and smaller than him! He can co-exist with dogs who respect his space. Call us at 748-6677 to see about Casper.

Big Boy (Partner of DeeDee, below)

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Ginger Tabby
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

He may be big but he's a cream puff kitten inside. His foster mom says Big Boy is "quite the character. Very loyal to his caregiver. He showed up in November of 2009 cold and hungry and looking for a warm place to snuggle down for the winter. He had only part of one ear, likely due to frostbite. He doesn't meow much or make noise either. He loves to be petted and will collapse down on the floor once you start and just lay there soaking it up. He's living outdoors most of the time due to allergies but could adjust to being an indoor cat as he sure loves to come in our place. He has been caught a few times up on our bed! Very loveable and gentle and would make a great companion to anyone who loves him."

He and DeeDee have become inseparable so we'd like to see them go to a new home together, indoors or outdoors.

Dee Dee (Partner of Big Boy)
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Adult

That's Dee Dee cuddling with Big Boy. She's a sweet natured girl who enjoys the company of other cats and of course, humans. Affectionate and loving, Dee Dee's personality would make her suitable for any sort of family arrangement, big, small, couple or single. She's currently living mainly outdoors due to allergies in her foster home, but would enjoy a more "pampered" lifestyle indoors or indoor/outdoor. And of course, she'd like to be adopted with her "husband" Big Boy.

Her foster mom says: "DeeDee is a sweet little thing. She is a smaller cat and very pretty and dainty. She will have to gently sniff you before she will let you pet her. She likes to chat too. She does love to come inside and sneak in onto the bed or chair so we think she could adapt well to being an indoor cat." Call us about sweet Dee Dee. 748-6677.

Rocket

Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Colour: Calico
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Young adult

Rocket came into rescue with her four gorgeous kittens. They've been adopted and Rocket has been spayed, so now it's her turn for a happily-ever-after.

Not only does Rocket have beautiful, soft, long fur and a pretty face... she's also a friendly, well-adjusted girl. Rocket is being fostered in a home with a fair bit of activity where there are other cats and a VERY busy little dog but she handles it all with calm and poise. So we think she'd fit well into a family environment, no problem.

We'd like an indoor only home for her, as she's so done with the great outdoors. Contact us about meeting Rocket: 748-6677.

Miss Kitty
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Colour: Tabby with White
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Adult

Miss Kitty is about 4 years old, spayed, vaccinated and very deserving of a fresh start in life. She's living as an outdoor cat at her foster home but she craves love and affection and could easily give up her independence for a fireplace and a warm lap.

This girl has a lot of gentleness that you can see in her eyes. She's beautiful inside and out. She'd be a great housepet for a family as she's gentle and patient with children. Can you give her the safe place she's been waiting for?

Buddy Holly
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby with White
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult

Buddy Holly was born and continues to live outdoors. His beautiful green eyes, pink nose and soft coat make him very cuddle-icious. Buddy Holly is a quiet boy, unlike his namesake the rock and roller. This Buddy doesn't talk much, but enjoys human and feline companionship. He would likely be okay with an indoor/outdoor lifestyle as long as you have the time to show him the ropes. Call 748-6677 for more information.
